Taking the Ice Bucket Challenge

I was called out by my sister-in-law Meg Naab to take the challenge. I am proud to support the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Here’s why:

1. ALS Sucks!

I salute the ALS community for their bravery and am so glad they have a moment in the spotlight to share their story. I was particularly touched by @carbajalphoto who bravely shared his experiences with ALS in this video.

2. Cold Water is good for your health

We have talked extensively on this blog about the benefits of cooling the testicles on fertility. But we haven’t mentioned many of the other health benefits of taking cold showers. My buddies over at the Snowball’s snowschool did a great job with this post. This Art of Manliness video also has a nice summary:

3. It brings humanity together

We all have stories. The #IceBucketChallenge is one of those things that lets us come together as humanity and collectively take action and bring light to places of isolation and darkness. The rich and famous and the ordinary guy have found a place to stand, side-by-side, to change our world. As I write this post, we have already raised $65 Million. That is something I can definitely stand behind.

So with that — here is my Ice Bucket Challenge. I invite the infertility community and the men’s health community to join me and wipe out a terrible disease.
